Quantive (now WorkBoard) for goal tracking: pros, cons and an alternative

Quantive, once Gtmhub, was enterprise OKR and strategy software and is now part of WorkBoard. Clearahead is goal tracking a startup team can run in an afternoon

The short answer

Quantive, known as Gtmhub until its rebrand, was enterprise OKR and strategy execution software. WorkBoard, another enterprise OKR company, acquired it in May 2025 and is moving Quantive customers onto the WorkBoard platform. Both are built for large organisations rolling strategy out across many teams. Clearahead is goal tracking software for startups and companies up to 200 people: each goal, the constraints holding it back and the moves that clear them, kept current by AJ, its AI. If you run OKRs across thousands of people, look at WorkBoard. If you’re a leadership team that wants to get aligned this week, Clearahead fits better.

What is Quantive?

Quantive was strategy execution and OKR software for large organisations. It helped companies turn strategy into objectives and key results for business units, teams and people, connect those key results to data in other systems so progress updated itself, and report on how strategy was landing across the organisation. In its later years it added AI features aimed at helping executives plan and adapt strategy.

If you’re researching goal tracking software today, the most important fact about Quantive is that it’s no longer an independent product. In May 2025, WorkBoard, another enterprise OKR and strategy execution company, announced it had acquired Quantive, and that Quantive customers would move onto the WorkBoard platform. So when AI tools still list Quantive among goal tracking options, what you’d actually be buying now is WorkBoard.

Either way, both were built for the same buyer: large enterprises with strategy teams, many business units and the budget for a rollout. That’s worth knowing if you’re a startup leadership team, because it’s a very different job from the one you’re trying to do.

Where Quantive came from

The company started life as Gtmhub, founded in 2015 with roots in Sofia, Bulgaria, and later a US base in Denver. It grew quickly during the OKR boom of the late 2010s, raising money from investors including Insight Partners and Index Ventures, and won a reputation for connecting OKRs to live business data rather than relying on manual check-ins.

Gtmhub rebranded as Quantive as it moved from “OKR software” to the broader idea of strategy execution. The acquisition by WorkBoard brought together two of the best-known enterprise OKR vendors, at a time when Microsoft had also announced it was retiring its own OKR product, Viva Goals.

Quantive pros and cons

What Quantive does well, and where it struggles.

Where Quantive shines

  • Built for scale: OKRs and strategy across large, complex organisations.
  • Deep integrations to pull progress from business systems automatically.
  • Early to bring AI into strategy and OKR work.
  • Strong reporting and analytics for executive teams.
  • Now part of WorkBoard, a long-standing enterprise OKR vendor.

Where Quantive struggles

  • Quantive as a standalone product is being folded into WorkBoard, so new buyers are really choosing WorkBoard.
  • Enterprise software usually means a sales process, onboarding and a rollout project.
  • OKRs measure whether you’re on track, not what’s holding the goal back.
  • Far more than a startup or small leadership team needs.
  • Pricing isn’t published; expect enterprise contracts.

How Quantive differs from Clearahead in practice

Comparing Quantive or WorkBoard with Clearahead is less about features and more about size and purpose.

Rolling out strategy, or getting aligned

Enterprise OKR platforms solve a scale problem: how does a strategy set by a few executives reach tens of thousands of people, and how do you know it’s landing? That takes alignment trees, governance, permissions, integrations and a team to run it. A startup or a company of fifty people has a different problem. The leadership team can fit round one table, but they don’t agree on what’s really holding the company back, and the plan lives in the founder’s head. Clearahead is built for that.

Key results, or constraints

Quantive organised work around OKRs and KPIs. Clearahead organises it around constraints. Each goal has its own workspace with a short list of what’s holding it back, in the order your team chooses, and the moves that clear each one. When a goal slips, you see which constraint is stuck and who owns it, not just a red key result. You can read the thinking in Remove constraints, don’t add initiatives.

Integrations, or a sentence

Quantive’s strength was pulling numbers from other systems. That’s powerful when you have clean data and a team to wire it up. Clearahead starts with people instead. Owners tell AJ, the AI inside Clearahead, what happened in a sentence. AJ updates the model, keeps the evidence, and writes This week from AJ, with up to three things that need a decision.

A project, or an afternoon

Enterprise software is usually bought through a sales process and rolled out over weeks or months. Clearahead is free for up to three people, and most teams build their first model with AJ in an afternoon. There are no consultants or training days, and when you grow it’s one published price for the whole company.

If you’re a Quantive customer now

If your company used Quantive and is being moved to WorkBoard, it’s a natural moment to ask whether you still need enterprise OKR software at all. For large organisations the answer is often yes, and WorkBoard is a sensible home. For smaller companies that bought Quantive when they were growing fast, the move can be a chance to simplify. Ask how many people actually updated their key results last quarter, how often the leadership team looked at the dashboards, and whether the goal tree helped anyone decide what to do next. If the honest answers are “a few”, “rarely” and “not really”, a lighter tool will serve you better, and Clearahead is free to try with up to three people while you decide.

Should you choose Quantive or Clearahead?

Choose Quantive if

  • You’re a large organisation running OKRs across many business units.
  • You need deep integrations, governance and enterprise security reviews.
  • You have a strategy office or transformation team to run the rollout.
  • You’re an existing Quantive customer moving to WorkBoard and happy with it.

Choose Clearahead if

  • You’re a startup or a company of up to 200 people.
  • You want to be set up today, not after a sales process and rollout.
  • Your goals keep slipping and you want to see what’s in the way, not another dashboard.
  • You want AI to keep the model current from a sentence, not from integrations.
  • You want a clear, published price for the whole company.

Our honest read

If you’re a large organisation running OKRs across many business units, Quantive was a serious product, and WorkBoard, its new home, is one of the established names in enterprise strategy execution. Clearahead doesn’t compete for that job: it doesn’t offer single sign-on or cascade OKRs through thousands of people.

If you’re a startup or a growing company, an enterprise platform is almost certainly more than you need. You’ll spend more time setting it up than using it. Lighter OKR tools like Perdoo and Tability are better places to start if you want OKRs.

And if what you really want is the leadership team aligned on a few goals and the constraints behind them, with AI doing the asking and the admin, that’s what we built Clearahead for. Our roundup of goal tracking software for startup leadership teams covers the wider field.

Questions about Quantive

What happened to Quantive?

Quantive, formerly Gtmhub, was acquired by WorkBoard in May 2025. WorkBoard said Quantive customers would move to the WorkBoard platform over the following months.

Is Quantive the same as Gtmhub?

Yes. Gtmhub was the company’s original name. It rebranded as Quantive and later added AI strategy features before the WorkBoard acquisition.

What is a good alternative to Quantive for a startup?

Startups rarely need enterprise OKR software. Lighter OKR tools like Perdoo and Tability suit teams that want OKRs. Clearahead suits leadership teams that want to align on a few goals and what’s in the way, with AI doing the upkeep.

Is Clearahead enterprise software?

No. Clearahead is built for AI-native startups and companies of up to 200 people moving to AI. It doesn’t offer single sign-on, and it isn’t designed to cascade OKRs through a large organisation.
