For AI-native startups

The operating system for AI-native startups.

You build with AI every day. The way your company runs should keep up. Clearahead gives a small team one goal, an honest answer to what’s in the way and the few moves that matter, with AJ, the AI inside it, doing the asking and the admin. It’s free for up to three people, so set it up before the meetings set in.

Free for up to 3 people. No card needed. Or speak to us.

Past three people, alignment stops happening by itself.

With two or three founders round one table, everyone knows the plan. Hire the fourth person, start a raise or open a second market, and the plan quietly splits into several. Nobody decides that. It just happens, a little more each week.

  • Ten priorities, no way to choose.

Every week brings something new and urgent, and the loudest one wins by default.

  • The plan lives in the founders’ heads.

Each new hire has to guess what matters most, or wait for the next all-hands to find out.

  • Investor updates take a weekend.

You rebuild the story of the month from Slack, your issue tracker and memory, every single time.

  • Busy gets mistaken for progress.

Everyone ships a lot. Nobody can say for sure which of it moved the goal.

Why a startup needs an operating system now, not at fifty people.

Most startups put off deciding how they run until it hurts. By then there are rituals to unpick: a weekly status meeting nobody likes, a strategy deck nobody opens, OKRs set in January and forgotten by March. Bigger companies spend months and a consultant’s fees undoing all that. You don’t have to, because you haven’t built it yet.

AI-native teams move faster than any planning process designed for the last decade. Work changes daily, so a quarterly plan is out of date before the month is out. A small team doesn’t need more process. It needs one shared loop: set the goal, find what’s holding it back, move on it, and when it clears, find the next thing. That’s the operating model Clearahead is built on, and you can read the thinking behind it in The operating model for the AI era.

The loop comes from the Theory of Constraints and first principles. At any moment, one or two things are really holding a startup back: no repeatable way to qualify leads, a founder who’s the only one who can close, a product that’s hard to get started with. Clear those and everything else gets easier. Work on everything else and very little changes.

Clearahead makes that the way your team works, not a workshop you run once. AJ asks the questions a good adviser would, keeps the plan current as people update it, and writes a brief every Monday. Your team does the thinking and the deciding. AJ does the rest.

What your startup gets.

Real screens from the app. AJ keeps them up to date.

  • A goal page your team and investors can read.

What you’re aiming for, why it matters, how you’ll know, and where it stands today. Share it with a new hire on day one or an investor before the call.

A goal page in Clearahead: Reach £4m ARR by the end of 2027, with the current reality under the title, then why it matters, why we believe it and how we'll know it's done.
  • The one or two things really in the way.

AJ keeps asking why until you reach causes your team can change, not symptoms. You put them in order.

The model in Clearahead: the goal, and under it three constraints in the team’s order, each with its status, owner and moves.
  • A few moves, each with an owner.

People update in a sentence when the work moves. No status doc, no chasing, no stand-up that runs long.

A constraint page in Clearahead: We have no repeatable way to qualify leads, with four moves, each with its status, due date and owner.
  • A Monday brief from AJ.

The wins, how it’s going and up to three things that need you. Most of your next investor update, already written.

This week from AJ: three wins, a read on the week, what moved, what we learned, and three things that need you.

How it grows with you.

  1. 01

    Start free today.

Set up your organisation with up to three people and one workspace, with full access to AJ and no card. Most teams have their first goal written the same afternoon.

  2. 02

    Find the real constraint.

Talk AJ through what’s going on. It helps you find what’s really in the way and plan the moves to clear it, each with an owner and a date.

  3. 03

    Bring investors along.

Invite investors or your board as Viewers. They can read the goal and ask AJ questions any time, so updates stop eating your weekends.

  4. 04

    Upgrade when you hire.

Invite a fourth person or add a second workspace and move to the Clearahead plan: unlimited people and up to 10 workspaces for one price. Everything you’ve built comes with you.

Example from a seed-stage SaaS team
Goal Reach £50k MRR before we raise our seed round
Constraint We have no repeatable way to qualify leads
Moves
  • Agree what a qualified lead looks like
  • Score every inbound lead the same way for a month

Questions.

What is an operating system for a startup?

It’s how a company decides what matters, who’s doing what and how it knows it’s working. In most startups that lives in the founders’ heads and a few Slack threads. Clearahead puts it in one place: one goal, the constraints holding it back and the moves to clear them, kept current by AJ.

What does the free plan include?

Up to three people, one workspace and full access to AJ, for as long as you like. No card needed. Everyone counts towards the three, whatever their role.

What happens when we hire?

When you invite a fourth person or add a second workspace, Clearahead asks you to move to the Clearahead plan: unlimited people and up to 10 workspaces for £297 a month or £2,997 a year ($397 or $3,997). You can also upgrade from Billing at any time. See pricing.

Is this another project management tool?

No. Keep Linear, Jira, Notion or whatever you ship with. Clearahead sits above them: it decides what’s worth doing, and they handle the doing.

We’re pre-seed. Isn’t this too early?

If you’re more than three people, it’s the right time. Alignment stops happening by itself once you’re past a founding team, and setting up how you run costs an afternoon now. Later it costs a reorganisation.

Can our investors follow along?

Yes. Invite them as Viewers to see the goal, what’s in the way and what’s being done, and to ask AJ questions. On the free plan they count towards your three people.
