For COOs and heads of growth

The operating rhythm for COOs and heads of growth.

You were brought in to make the company go faster in one direction. Clearahead gives you one shared picture of the goal, what’s holding it back and who owns each move, built in conversation with AJ rather than in another spreadsheet, and kept current without a status meeting.

What you probably walked into.

Whether you joined last month or you’ve run operations or growth for years, the pattern is familiar: plenty of activity, plenty of tools, and not much agreement about what matters most.

  • Every department has its own priorities.

Each list makes sense on its own. Together they pull the company five ways.

  • Status meetings eat the week.

And they still miss what’s actually stuck.

  • Causes and symptoms look the same.

It’s hard to tell which problems cause the others, so everything gets worked on at once.

  • The growth plan lives in a deck.

Agreed once, opened rarely, and out of date before the quarter is out.

Your job is finding the constraint. Clearahead makes it everyone’s.

Good COOs and heads of growth do the same thing by instinct: find the one thing really holding the company back, get everyone to agree on it, and clear it before moving on. It’s the Theory of Constraints, whether or not anyone calls it that.

The hard part isn’t the thinking. It’s the admin around it: collecting updates, chasing owners, rewriting the plan, building the board pack, and explaining it all again to whoever missed the meeting. In a company where AI has sped up the work itself, that admin is the slowest thing left.

Clearahead takes it off your plate. AJ asks the questions, files the evidence from every update and writes the Monday brief. You spend your time on the calls only you can make. Whether your remit is operations, growth or both, the loop is the same: set the goal, find what’s holding it back, move on it, and when it clears, find the next thing.

See how AJ works on Meet AJ, or read The operating model for the AI era for the thinking behind it.

What you get.

Real screens from the app. AJ keeps them up to date.

  • The goal on one page.

What the company is aiming for, why, how you’ll know and where it stands. The page you’d otherwise rebuild for every board meeting.

A goal page in Clearahead: Reach £4m ARR by the end of 2027, with the current reality under the title, then why it matters, why we believe it and how we'll know it's done.
  • Evidence, not opinions.

Talk AJ through what you hear from each team. It becomes evidence under the right constraint, in people’s own words, with who said it and when.

The Evidence and history tab on a constraint: figures and quotes from the team, who said them, when, and which part of the page each one feeds.
  • Moves with owners, not action logs.

Owners update in a sentence when the work moves. You see what’s stuck without asking.

A constraint page in Clearahead: We have no repeatable way to qualify leads, with four moves, each with its status, due date and owner.
  • The status meeting, without the meeting.

AJ’s Monday brief and the weekday summary email show the wins, how it’s going and what needs you. My work shows each person what needs them.

This week from AJ: three wins, a read on the week, what moved, what we learned, and three things that need you.

Your first 90 days, or your next 90.

  1. 01

    Listen, then write it down.

Talk AJ through what you hear from each team. It lands as evidence under the right constraint, in people’s own words.

  2. 02

    Agree the few that matter.

Rank the constraints with your team, give each one an owner, and plan the moves in the order to tackle them.

  3. 03

    Run the week.

The Monday brief and the weekday summary email take the place of the status round-up.

  4. 04

    Give each team a goal.

Add workspaces for growth, operations or a launch, each with its own goal. Up to 10 on the Clearahead plan.

Moves
  • Move pick lists into the warehouse system
  • Train two more people to run picking

Questions.

Does it work for growth as well as operations?

Yes. The loop is the same. Growth teams usually start with a revenue goal and constraints like lead quality or conversion. Operations teams start with delivery, quality or cost.

Do we have to replace our project tool?

No. Clearahead sits above Asana, Monday, Jira or your CRM. It decides what’s worth doing, and they handle the doing.

Can each department have its own goal?

Yes. Up to 10 workspaces, one per goal: the company goal plus a goal for each team that needs one.

Can it replace the board pack?

It can. Invite the board as Viewers to read the goal, the constraints and the moves, and to ask AJ questions. You may find the monthly report is one of the first things you can drop.

How long does it take to set up?

Most teams set the goal and their first constraint in the first session. AJ asks the questions, so there’s no template to fill in. Read the getting started guide.

Is our company data safe?

Yes. Everything is encrypted and held in European data centres, and each organisation’s data is kept separate. AJ uses OpenAI’s API, and your data isn’t used to train their models. Read our privacy policy.

How much does it cost?

One price for the whole company: £297 a month or £2,997 a year ($397 or $3,997), with unlimited people and up to 10 workspaces. Free for up to three people. See pricing.
