Updating the model

How AJ proposes model changes, what accepting does, and how Versions work.

AJ never writes to the Model directly. Instead, every suggested change appears in the conversation as a Proposal: a plain-language summary, followed by a numbered list of exactly what would change and why.

That Proposal might include things like:

  • adding a new Constraint
  • changing a status
  • assigning or removing an owner
  • setting, moving or clearing a due date
  • adding an Update
  • changing how items connect

Each change comes with a reason in ordinary language, so you can see not just what AJ is suggesting, but why.

Nothing changes until you accept

A Proposal is only a suggestion. Nothing becomes real until you explicitly accept it in that conversation.

If you reject it, nothing changes.

This matters because the Model is the shared record for the business. AJ can help you think, diagnose and suggest changes — but you stay in control of what actually gets written.

Accepting creates a new Version

When you accept a Proposal, Clearahead creates a new permanent Version of the Model.

A Version is a full snapshot of the whole Model at that moment, not just a note saying one field changed. That means you can always look back at the exact state of the Model as it was when a decision was made.

Past Versions are read-only. They are there as history, not something to edit.

Why Proposals are useful

Working this way keeps model changes clear and deliberate:

  • you can review changes before they happen
  • everyone can see the reasoning behind them
  • accepted decisions become part of a durable history
  • rejected suggestions leave the Model untouched

That makes the Model safer than a chat transcript and clearer than making silent edits in place.

Ask AJ

“What exactly would change if I accept this?”

“Can you propose a version of this with an owner and due date attached?”
